ANNOUNCING A NEWLY APPROVED PROGRAM FOR FALL 2009! ! ! !
CAGS IN INTERDISCIPLINARY STUDIES: INDIVIDUALIZED TRACK
For whom is the program intended? The program is intended for candidates holding a Masters Degree and who are interested in pursuing further advanced graduate study in concentrations of interest to them.
What is the expected duration of the program? The program, consisting of 36 credits, will begin on September 7, 2009, with an anticipated end date of April, 2011.
What is meant by "Individualized Track?" Candidates may choose two declared disciplines from a menu of four: Teacher Leadership, Pedagogy, Diversity and Fundamentals of Reading Instruction. For example, the candidate may choose to "concentrate" in Teacher Leadership and Pedagogy or Teacher Leadership and Diversity or Teacher Leadership and Fundamentals of Reading Instruction, or Pedagogy and Diversity or Pedagogy and Fundamentals of Reading Instruction.
How will I be supported throughout the program? Each candidate is assigned a faculty advisor from each of his/her chosen disciplines. Both advisors will meet on-site with candidates once in each semester of the candidate's program; that is, at the location in which the candidate is taking courses. Advisement will be provided on Plans of Study: which courses should be taken, including when and where.
How do I find out more about this new program? Attend one of our Info Sessions or contact the Leahy-Brine offices directly at 781-331-8826.
