Mission and Vision Statement

Catherine Leahy Brine Educational Consultants is committed to excellence in teaching and learning, and this is the focus of our Initial and Professional license programs. Delivered within a close, cohort environment, the emphasis of our programs is on preparing candidates to teach all students inclusively and in knowledgeable, skillful, caring and professional ways.

In order to achieve this mission, the following are promoted in our programs: 

  • Effective planning and delivery of curriculum and instruction using content standards from the appropriate Massachusetts Curriculum Framework and Common Core 

  • Clear oral, written and technological communication skills 

  • A deeper understanding of candidates' content knowledge 

  • Effective classroom management skills that enhance an appropriate learning environment 

  • Ethical and moral responsibilities of the profession 

  • Equity through an understanding of effective practices that meet the needs of diverse student populations and include high standards and expectations for all learners

  • Reflective practice that encourages the use of classic and current educational research to inform instruction 

  • Understanding of developmentally appropriate learning theories and instructional practices
